A native of Puyallup Washington Butler was interested in the arts when she was growing up. She performed at high school theatre and in community theater. She attended The University of Southern California and relocated into Los Angeles where she played Belle the beauty and the beast princess at Disneyland for about an entire year and a half. After college, she and set her sights on getting an agent to represent her talents and then began looking for opportunities in television and in film. Butler guest starred in the TV show CSI: Miami. The year before, she was an actor in the Don Stark web series Luke 11-17. Butler was also a frequent guest in the show I Love Vampires. Butler was cast as the main role on I Spit on Your Grave (a remake) a 2010 revenge and sexual assault thriller. Though initially sceptical about the violence and nakedness of the film the strong character development and feminist edge helped convince she to accept the role.Butler was in the film as Jennifer Hills a novelist who was brutally gang-raped when living in a cabin the woods; her character then seeks revenge against her attackers. Produced by Steven R. Monroe the film was released on October 8th, 2010. Butler started filming The Stranger Within, a psychological thriller starring Estella Warr as well as William Baldwin on Mallorca in Spain in November of 2011. The film was also set to shoot in Copenhagen Denmark and New York City.She was part of the crew for the feature film independent Treachery featuring Michael Biehn which began filming in Los Angeles in June 2012. Butler played in The Demented (2013), produced by Michael Welch with Kayla and Michael Welch.
